MAGNOLIA
Shutters are manufactured from select, kiln-dried hardwood. Joints between stiles
and rails are double hardwood doweled, glued, secured with screws, and sanded smooth.
Stiles are computer balanced so widths are uniformly equal when viewed from the face side.
Louvers are sanded three times prior to applying the final coat of lacquer finish.
MORTISING for hinges are computer located on the edge of the
stile to be hinged. Adjoining panels are rabbeted to prevent light entry, provide privacy
and reduce heat transfer.
LOUVERS pivot on self-lubricating
nylon pins for smooth operation, and are ganged together by a steel tilt rod recessed in
one stile. When one louver is moved, it moves the tilt rod in a pivotal parallelogram
motion which, in turn, moves all louvers attached to that same tilt rod.
MAGNETS are mounted in the stile
and are designed so that a steel tilt-rod rests flat against the magnet surface. The
magnetic force between the rod and magnet creates a constant frictional field which holds
the louvers in place after positioning.
EXTREMELY TIGHT TOLERANCES enable us to successfully
manufacture a shutter that is so unique it is patented. Tight tolerances allow us to take
advantage of magnets, parallel motion and a free floating louver with no horizontal force.
SHUTTER LIMITATIONS include:
38" maximum single panel width; 144" panel height. Maximum of 9 square feet of
louvers in a single operating section. |
